A guide to managing, adding, deleting subaccounts, and transferring ownership in your GemHub account.
GemHub's subaccount feature lets Pro plan users add up to two subaccounts for shared cloud storage and collaboration.
When invited, a Member's gallery and products sync with the admin’s, creating a shared database.
Members can manage media, products, and catalogs, but will not have access to the parent account’s profile, billing, or share settings.
Adding Subaccounts
For Pro plan users, you may add subaccounts to your primary account. Here are the steps to add subaccounts:
-
Login to your GemHub and click on the profile icon on the bottom left of the page.
-
Navigate to "Members".
-
Click "Add Members"
-
Enter the email address of the person you want to add as a sub-account and click "Send Invite".
-
The invitee will receive an email with a link to create or confirm their account and access shared information.
Note: If you see an error saying, "The invitation has been deactivated," the link may have already been used or is no longer valid. Please ask the main user to resend the invitation. -
If the sub-account has existing images or media files, a prompt will appear asking if they should be transferred to the main account.
Note: Please ensure that there is sufficient cloud storage in the main account before joining to ensure that all media can be ported successfully.
Cancelling Subaccount Invitations
- Locate the subaccount you want to delete and click on the cancel button next to it.
- A notification will appear to confirm the cancellation.
Deleting Subaccounts
Only the primary account holder can delete subaccounts.
-
Locate the subacccount that you will like to remove from the main account and click on the 'Trash Bin' icon.
- Media uploaded and products created by this member will remain in the organization.
Note: Once deleted, the action cannot be undone and the main account will have to send the invitation again to add the same user back.
Transferring Ownership
You can now transfer ownership of your account when someone from your organization leaves, ensuring seamless access and management without disruptions.
- Click on the Transfer Ownership button on the main account user to start
- Select the account that you will like to transfer the ownership of the main account user to.
- Once the transfer is done, your account will then become a member account. The subscription and owner for the media in the account will also be transferred.
Note: This process is irreversible. To transfer ownership back, you must log in to the new GemHub owner's account and initiate the transfer again.
