Shoot 360 videos using the GemLightbox Turntable set:
The video below demonstrates how to capture videos using the GemLightbox Turntable Set and your smartphone.
Avoiding Jewelry Shaking When Using GemLightbox Aerial
Shaking may occur if your jewelry or the surrounding environment (such as table vibrations or nearby traffic) is not fully stable. This effect is amplified during rotation due to the pendulum motion.
To minimize or prevent shaking:
-
Wait for the jewelry to stabilize before recording. After placing the item in the magnetic holder, gently hold it and release your grip slowly to reduce motion.
-
Use the slow speed rotation setting when recording. This slower movement helps reduce the pendulum effect and stabilizes the shot.
How to Reduce Glare in Photos Using GemLightbox
To minimize glare in your jewelry photos, ensure that the only light source is the built-in LED lights inside the GemLightbox. Then follow these steps:
-
Lower the jewelry position inside the GemLightbox by removing the photography table. This helps reduce direct light hitting the stone’s surface.
-
Adjust the smartphone angle and phone stand position. Glare and reflections can vary depending on the camera angle—try repositioning slightly to find the optimal shot.
Video Frame Rate for GemHub Application
The GemLightbox records videos at 30 frames per second (FPS) by default.
To verify this, you can check the properties of a downloaded video file on your computer by right-clicking it, selecting Properties > Details, and looking under Frame Rate.
If you're looking for a lower overall frame count, you can choose to record 15-second or 30-second 360° videos. While the FPS remains the same (30 FPS), a shorter video duration results in fewer total frames captured.
Capturing Photos and Videos of Silver Jewelry
Photographing silver jewelry can be particularly challenging due to its highly reflective surface and low contrast when shot against a white background.
To achieve the best results, you may need to fine-tune your setup and settings.
Follow the steps below to get started:
- Check and install any updates both for your smartphone and the GemLightbox application.
- For the GemLightbox application: Go to Play Store or App Store > search GemLightbox > Install update.
- For your smartphone: Go to Settings > Software Update > install update.
- Adjust GemHub Settings
- Open the GemHub application
- Navigate to Settings
- Remove both Daylight and Sparkle lighting options
3. Use Moderate Zoom
-
Zoom in moderately (around 2x)
-
Avoid zooming in beyond 4x, as this can cause a noticeable drop in image quality
4. Fine-Tune Temperature
- Before capturing, use the temperature slider in the app to adjust the temperature
-
Adjust the levels until your silver jewelry appears crisp and true to color
Tip for Better Results
We recommend using the GemLightbox Eclipse, designed to help you capture silver jewelry on a beautiful black background, enhancing contrast and reducing unwanted reflections.
Note: The GemLightbox Turntable is required to operate the GemLightbox Eclipse.
