[iOS] Focusing Issues with iPhone Pro Series Cameras

Some users with iPhone Pro and Pro Max series 12 and above have reported that their images appear blurry or out of focus when capturing jewelry.

This issue is related to hardware changes in newer iPhone Pro models.

Why this happens

The cameras in newer iPhone Pro models have a greater minimum focusing distance than previous generations. This means the camera cannot focus properly if it’s held too close to the subject.

How to resolve it

Move the smartphone slightly farther away from the jewelry item until the camera can focus clearly.

This issue is hardware-related and cannot be fixed through Picup Media's software updates. Apple is aware of the issue and may offer a workaround in future iOS updates.

Enable Macro Control (iPhone 13 Pro and later)

For iPhone Pro and Pro Max models, turning on Macro Control allows the camera to focus on close-up objects with better clarity.

To enable Macro Control:

  1. In the GemHub mobile application, tap on Camera
  2. Select the settings icon on the top right corner of the screen
  3. Turn on Enable Macro Lens
  4. On the camera screen, tap on the macro lens option to turn it on
